Loss, Grief, and the Stress it Causes.

Loss affects so many people in so many ways. Chances are you have experienced loss at some time in your life. Maybe you experienced one recently. Maybe it was the death of the loved one, divorce, being ghosted by a close friend, or losing a job. Loss in our lives causes grief that can last for different lengths of time depending on how big the loss felt to us.

Grief is a complicated emotional process where you can experiences sadness, anger, shock, anxiety, and so many other emotions. Grief can feel worse if you don’t have people around you to support and empathize with your loss. And something I thing people don’t talk about enough is how stressful loss can be.

Loss brings changes to life that you have to learn to live with on top of the overwhelming emotions that already come with loss. If your loved one passed away they’re not there to support you. If you’re divorced your adjusting to single-life again. If a friend ghosted you the person who talked to you on a bad day won’t answer your calls anymore. A lost job means lost income to pay for basic needs. All those things cause overwhelming stress. Loss, grief and the stress involved come in so many shapes and sizes.
